Queen's Park, Bolton
Queen's Park is a Victorian park lying to the north-west of Bolton town centre, in Greater Manchester.〔http://www.bolton.gov.uk/website/pages/Parksandopenspacesinformationandadvice.aspx〕 It was named in 1897 in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. It opened on 24 May 1866 by Lord Bradford.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Bolton Website )〕 Queen's Park had a natural history museum, Chadwick Museum, started in 1878 by Mr. R. K. Freeman and opened in 1884. The museum was built by Samuel Chadwick, whose statue stands in Bolton Victoria Square, Bolton. The building was demolished when the museum was moved to Le Mans Crescent.〔 The River Croal runs through the park which has flowerbeds, duck ponds, and statues; including one of former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli.
